With a 1,000 mile trip to Cornwall behind us we thought a roof box would have been useful to store luggage and especially to give my two young children some breathing space in the back of the car and a view! Looking into it we discovered an appropriate roof box, bars and footpack would cost well in excess of £300. We thought this was an unnecessary expense given this would be used perhaps once a year at best.

Shortly after that friends from London stayed for the weekend with their two young children and arrived in an uncluttered car courtesy of a roof box. This had been hired from a firm in the London area and gave us an idea.

There wasn’t an option to hire locally in the Dunblane area or indeed within Central Scotland as no one provided such a service!
